The below information is required while
completing the university application :

1. International applicants must have a recognized higher secondary school leaving certificate that qualifies them for university admission in their home country or is considered equivalent to the Austrian “Matura.”

2. In some cases, students whose qualifications are not fully equivalent may be required to complete additional assessments or a preparatory path before admission.

3. Applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in English or German, depending on the chosen program, with many English taught bachelor’s programs requiring at least an IELTS score around 5.5 or equivalent.

4. In addition, students are usually required to submit essential application documents such as academic transcripts, a valid passport or ID, and in some cases a motivation letter, CV, or proof of relevant academic or extracurricular achievements.

5. Some programs may also include additional entry requirements such as entrance assessments, interviews, or subject specific prerequisites depending on the field of study.

6. Applications are generally submitted online through the CUAS application portal, and all foreign documents must be provided in certified and, if necessary, translated form.

In 2014, the university’s business master’s programs were ranked among the top in Austria in the international U-Multirank evaluation, and in the same year a faculty member won the prestigious Austrian “Ars Docendi” State Prize for Teaching Excellence. In 2016, CUAS was ranked among the top three Austrian higher education institutions in business studies under the U-Multirank system. In 2017, faculty members from the International Business Management program received the Emerald Literati Award for a highly commended academic case study. During its 25th anniversary in 2020, the university was recognized for its rapid growth, strong applied research profile, and contribution to higher education in Austria. In 2023, the university’s Global Case Study Challenge won first place for Innovative Teaching and Learning at the PROFFORMANCE International Teaching Excellence Awards. Notable Innovation, Research & Development Carinthia University of Applied Sciences

Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) has developed several notable research and innovation projects over the years. In 2014, the university established Carinthia’s first Innovation Workshop to support prototyping and business innovation. In 2016, CUAS founded the Institute for Applied Research on Ageing (IARA), focusing on healthcare technologies and active ageing research. Between 2016 and 2018, the university conducted international research in geoinformation systems, environmental monitoring, and spatial analytics. In 2019, CUAS launched the Carinthia Institute for Smart Materials and Technologies (CiSMAT) for research in smart materials, biomedical sensors, and green technologies, while its “pro lida” Living Lab gained recognition from the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL). In 2021, the university expanded rehabilitation robotics research through cooperation with TYROMOTION. In 2023, CUAS established the Josef Ressel Center for System-on-Chip Design Automation (SODA) to advance integrated circuit and embedded systems research. More recently, from 2024 onward, the university has been involved in the Future Care Carinthia project, developing AI-supported elderly care and digital health technologies, while continuing ongoing research in microelectronics, wireless communication, and 5G technologies through the Carinthia Institute for Microelectronics (CIME).
