Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at Carthage College

Send in the Carthaginian admissions application.
Along with your application for admission to Carthage, send in a $40 non-refundable application fee. Using a credit card is the recommended payment option.
Send in all of your official transcripts, diplomas, and certificates from high school as well as from any prior universities you have attended. Transcripts must be sent straight from the institution to Carthage in English.
Send in your official PTE, IELTS, or TOEFL results. A minimum score of 78 on the iBT and 213 on the computer version of the TOEFL are needed. IELTS requires a minimum score of 6.0. PTE Academic requires a minimum score of 50. Carthage must receive scores straight from the testing organization. 

While not required, SAT-I scores are recommended for overseas students. Additional scholarship consideration is given to international students who submit their SAT-I results. The College Board website has a list of SAT-I testing locations and dates.

Send in the financial certification form. Bank representatives must certify all of the sums of money indicated on the certification of finances form. The sponsor statement must be submitted by your financial sponsor, if you have one.
If you're applying to music or music theater, you have to do an audition.

  • A regional alliance of colleges and institutions, including Carthage College, is working to eliminate inequalities in higher education by the year 2030.Students at Carthage College can receive tuition savings through a number of community collaborations.Carthage College and Opendorse collaborated to improve NIL possibilities for student-athletes. A customized Opendorse profile is given to student-athletes, which they can use on social networking.In an effort to lower teacher turnover, Carthage College collaborated with the Racine Unified School District and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Concurrent enrollment classes, free tuition for students, and credits that transfer between universities are all features of this effort.Carthage College and HARIBO collaborated to give student-athletes access to a practice and competition space. The Koenitzer Aquatic Center is home to the HARIBO Pool.Carthage College and Nexus have announced a strategic licensing arrangement.Several dual-degree programs with partner universities are available at Carthage College.

Carthage Flame

On October 11, 1988, the Board of Trustees established the Carthage Flame to honor exceptional service to the College and the community. The Trustees choose who gets to receive the Carthage Flame. Every flame has a sequential number and is engraved with the recipient's name and the year of the award. Not every year is the Flame given out. Only one Flame is given out each year, though they may be given out jointly.

SilhouetteFX

Prof. Perry Kivolowitz is a computer science expert who brings extensive academic background and entrepreneurial experience to Carthage College. He co-founded five tech companies, mostly in the fields of computer graphics and visual effects. In 1996, he was recognized for his contributions to filmmaking with an Academy Award® for Scientific and Technical Achievement. In 2018, he won an Academy Award for his software SilhouetteFX. In 1992, he received an Emmy certificate for his work on the television series "Babylon 5." In 2019, Prof. Kivolowitz was awarded an Emmy Award for Engineering for his work on SilhouetteFX.

Space Sciences Program

NASA's Space Grant Consortium is led by Carthage, one of just two liberal arts universities in the nation. Experiments developed and constructed by students in the Space Sciences Program have taken to the skies on Blue Origin rockets, commercial suborbital rockets, and even lunar-bound spacecraft. Students have also tested their weightless experiments by flying in NASA's zero-gravity aircraft.
