Housing facilities (Accommodation)

Each of the five campus residence halls at Central Methodist University offers a unique living environment and is staffed with a Residence Hall Director (RHD) and a team of upper-class student Resident Assistants (RAs) to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment. The residence halls are Howard-Payne and McMurry Halls (co-ed), Holt Hall (women), and Burford and Woodward Halls (men). All residence halls are staffed by a professional residence hall director, graduate resident assistants, and student resident assistants. Furniture provided per double room includes 2 dressers, 2 beds, 2 mattresses, 2 desks, 2 chairs, and closet space. Appliances and services provided include 2 Ethernet cable hook-ups and WiFi access throughout the building. From your residence hall, you'll be just steps away from all that CMU has to offer, including a hot breakfast just steps away. Room dimensions vary by hall: Burford Hall rooms are approximately 9' x 14', Holt Hall rooms are 14' x 13', Howard-Payne Hall rooms are 11' x 14'6" or 14'6" x 15', Woodward rooms are 15' x 9', and McMurry rooms are 14'7" x 10" or 14'5" x 20'. Student Safety

Central Methodist University is committed to providing a safe and secure environment conducive to promoting a respectful and educational atmosphere for all members of the campus community. Using a combination of foot and vehicle patrols throughout all shifts, safety officers are continuously visible on campus as a deterrent to crime. Specific responsibilities include campus patrol, response to emergency situations on campus, reporting and documenting criminal activity on campus property, fire system evaluation, testing and monitoring, coordination with law enforcement agencies and other emergency services, safety and mechanical system monitoring for all campus buildings, identification and assessment of possible safety hazards, and collection of lost and found property. CMU complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act, providing annual security reports, crime statistics, and policy disclosures. A Campus Safety line (660-202-0848) is monitored 24/7, and a Residence Hall Director is on call at 660-888-8877. Emergency numbers include 911, Fayette Police (660-248-3605), and Ambulance (660-248-2220). The university also provides parking permits and enforcement through the Office of Student Development, with Plant Operations responsible for enforcing parking regulations. The Residential Security Program provides protective services for university students residing in university residence halls, including safety escorts who can accompany students to campus destinations. Career Support

The James C. Denneny Jr. Career Development Center at Central Methodist University is dedicated to empowering students to develop the tools needed to successfully transition from college life to a professional career. Located on the 2nd floor of the Student and Community Center, the center provides services including resume review, job and internship search, career planning, graduate school preparation, and more. Students can upload resumes and cover letters for review in the "My documents" section of their Handshake account at any time. The center offers one-on-one career counseling, classroom presentations, and specialized sessions for Greek Life organizations, clubs, and athletic teams. The center celebrates student success through "CMU Hired" social media posts when students secure employment. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the center can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at 660-248-6255. The Career Development Center also offers career courses to help students develop the skills they need for successful job searches. As a result of a broad college experience, CMU graduates are prepared and highly sought after by leading employers and graduate schools.
