Pupils are urged to report incidences and secure doors as part of their personal safety protocols. To improve student safety, the University, Durham Students' Union (DSU), Durham County Council, and Durham Constabulary collaborate as the City Safety Group. It is recommended that students protect their valuables, lock doors and windows, report theft, and refrain from going out alone at night, especially in dimly lit locations. To address issues and offer help, the university offers a number of support services, such as the Business School support team, Health and Safety Service, and Student Support and Wellbeing.
