The College offers a suite of Counselling and Social Work specialist rooms with dedicated private therapy spaces, and a prayer room available to students who would like to access a private space for prayer. The library, known as the Gordon Moyes Library, provides full academic services for students and staff both on campus and remotely, with approximately 17,000 physical items and 180,000 full text electronic books as well as many electronic databases. Computer labs are equipped with Windows PCs and latest iMacs with audio, video, and theatrical design software tools, and lecture rooms are capable of facilitating online learning with projectors, rehearsal sound systems, and computers for teaching. Excelsia University College is committed to ensuring its students are provided with the support and resources required to assist them to be successful in their studies. The College offers academic skills support and pastoral support in the form of Mission Engagement Coordinators as well as free counselling services to students. Support options include one-on-one consultation with academic skills advisors, one-on-one support with library staff on research database skills and referencing skills, skills workshops on referencing, counselling, spiritual and pastoral support, career advice and job-ready workshops, resume writing assistance, and food support. Excelsia actively monitors student academic progress and identifies students who are at risk of not successfully completing their units, encouraging open dialogue between staff and students so that academic problems and difficulties can be identified and overcome before they affect course progression. Students in each discipline, including international students, elect two student representatives who work closely with their respective Head of Schools to articulate and implement a vision for enhancing student wellbeing and resolving issues of concern whenever they arise. Throughout the year, the student centre is used for various student and alumni events and functions, creating a vibrant campus life with clubs, events, sports, and cultural activities for a well-rounded education.

Student Safety

The safety and security of students and staff are the top priorities of Excelsia University College during any critical incident or crisis. Security around the College is everyone's responsibility, with access to the building through the front and side doors via use of a security swipe referred to as a FOB. The campus is alarmed outside opening hours, with an alarm pre-warning sounded at 9:45pm each night Monday to Friday and 5:45pm on Saturday as an alert for both staff and students to immediately exit the building. A Critical Incident Management Team prioritises attending to essential initial steps to ensure protection of lives and seek immediate care for injured or affected students. The College is committed to maintaining a work and study environment free from discrimination and harassment, with robust processes for quality assurance and ongoing commitment to fostering a scholarly, productive and safe environment for students and staff.
