Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) has a green and compact campus designed to bring teaching, research and student services within convenient reach. Its infrastructure includes lecture halls, specialised laboratories, study rooms, computer facilities and departmental buildings, together with student-oriented facilities such as the cafeteria, sports centre and library. The university's Building A houses areas related to Applied Computer Science, Media Informatics, Intermedia and Marketing, as well as a Green Screen and Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory. Building B includes facilities such as a brewery laboratory, water laboratory, chemical technology and physics facilities, and process-engineering spaces, while Building C accommodates Business Administration and Business Information Systems. FUAS also has a Software Lab, Creative Workshop and DesignLab. A major shared facility is the Central University Library (ZHB), which serves both FUAS and Europa-Universität Flensburg and provides academic resources, internet workstations, library training and study facilities. Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) provides a broad range of academic, personal, international and career support services to help students succeed throughout their studies. The International Office assists international students with information about programmes, everyday life in Flensburg and integration into the university community, while the university’s international advisory services provide individual counselling, coaching and help with academic and personal challenges. Students can also receive assistance with German-language learning, including German courses at B2 and C1 levels.

FUAS supports students through course guidance, tutorials, mentoring and study-related counselling, while the DAAD-funded FIT programme provides additional support to international students, including help with internships, student jobs, applications, networking and understanding work-permit and visa regulations. CampusCareer supports students with career planning, internships, job applications and connections with employers. The university also organises networking events, company visits and career fairs to facilitate professional development.

Student Life

Student life at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) combines academic activities with a range of social, cultural, sporting and international events. The university's green campus provides spaces for students to meet and relax, while regular activities include campus cinema, pub quizzes, student parties, cultural events and activities organised by the General Students' Committee (AStA) and student representatives. The university has a particularly active international student community. The International Office organises events such as international games nights, Christmas celebrations, networking activities and language clubs, while orientation weeks help new students meet classmates and become familiar with the campus and city. In 2026, FUAS's orientation programme included a welcome event, treasure hunt, pub quiz and International Games Night.

Students can also take advantage of the shared campus with Europa-Universität Flensburg, which provides access to a wider range of courses, library resources and sports opportunities. The university's location near the Flensburg harbour and the German-Danish border adds opportunities for outdoor and cross-cultural activities, including sailing and windsurfing.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) does not directly provide or guarantee accommodation, so students—particularly international students—are responsible for arranging housing before arriving in Germany. The university’s Welcome Team and International Office provide guidance on available options. Students can apply for accommodation through Studentenwerk Schleswig-Holstein, which operates several student residences in Flensburg, including residences directly on or close to the shared FUAS/EUFl campus.

Student residences offer different accommodation formats, including furnished single apartments, rooms in shared flats and apartments with shared kitchens. For example, the International House, located directly on campus, has furnished apartments with private bathrooms, shared kitchens, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, bicycle and car parking, a student lounge and an event room. The Norderburse residence, approximately three kilometres from campus, provides furnished single apartments and shared flats, with Wi-Fi, laundry facilities and bicycle parking.

Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) maintains campus safety through fire-safety procedures, emergency arrangements and student support services.
