Bachelor’s Degree

 • Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. 

GPA Requirement

 • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for undergraduate and prior graduate coursework is required. 

 • If GPA is below 3.0, applicants may submit a letter to the admissions committee explaining circumstances and a plan to succeed. 

Application & Fee

 • Complete the Graduate Studies application selecting the correct program type (degree or certificate) 

 • Pay a $50 non-refundable application fee (some teacher licensure applicants may get reimbursement) 

Official Transcripts

 • Submit transcripts from all undergraduate and any graduate institutions. 

 • If coursework is “in progress,” final transcripts must also be submitted. 

Essay / Statement of Purpose

 • Write a 1,200–1,500 word statement explaining your interest in graduate education, goals, and how the FLC program aligns. 

Résumé / CV

 • Submit a current résumé showing academic, professional, and relevant experience. 

Program-Specific / Professional Requirements

 • For Teacher Licensure / Education programs: Praxis content tests or other content area exams may be required. 

 • Some programs (like Principal Leadership) require letters of recommendation (from mentors, principals, colleagues) highlighting leadership and professional experience. 

Transfer of Graduate Credits

 • Graduate credit transfer is allowed under certain conditions:

  – Up to 12 credits for a 36-credit hour program

  – Up to 9 credits for 30-credit programs

  – Up to 6 credits for an 18-credit program (e.g. certificate) 

 • Transferred courses must have been completed at a regionally accredited institution with a grade of B or better and not older than 6 years.
