The new University Learning Hub, opened in Spring 2026, is a £12.75 million facility that brings together the university library, student support services, study spaces, classrooms, careers advice and the Red & Black Café under one roof, accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A new car park has been completed with 32 electrical charging points within a 353-space parking area located near the entrance. The institution also opened newly refurbished Agricultural Engineering Workshops and a SMART Livestock Hub, featuring high-specification resources such as a dynamometer, as part of its continued investment in future-ready, industry-aligned education.

Hartpury University provides personalised support based on individual requirements and aspirations, with teams covering wellbeing, achievement and success, learning support, careers, and more. The Student Zone serves as a one-stop shop for student queries. Students have access to a student wellbeing team, including nurses at the Medical Centre, counsellors and wellbeing officers who can provide advice and guidance on everything to do with health and happiness, and a chaplain who can offer a reassuring ear to those of all faiths as well as spaces for quiet reflection or prayer. The Innovation, Careers and Enterprise Centre team provides professional, work and skills-based courses, careers advice and guidance, employability and enterprise opportunities as well as enrichment activities and placement support. The Achievement and Success Centre team has a proven track record of making a huge difference to students' marks, helping students develop the skills needed to succeed at Hartpury. Student life at Hartpury University is enriched by a vibrant and friendly campus community, with accommodation options both on the rural campus and in vibrant Gloucester city. The campus offers a student bar called Legends, a livery yard, gym, sports facilities and laundry rooms. As a Hartpury student, individuals are automatically part of the Students’ Union, which puts together social events and supports a wide range of clubs and societies. The institution offers plenty of opportunities to play sport and get fit for fun, with hundreds of international sportsmen and women produced over the past 10 years, though students don't need to be playing at the highest level to participate. Hartpury has achieved the SOS-UK Drug and Alcohol Impact accreditation, reflecting a two-year commitment to fostering a safer, healthier campus environment by promoting responsible alcohol consumption and adopting a harm reduction approach to drug use. The institution also holds an annual WellFest event focused on student health, safety and wellbeing.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

Hartpury University offers a range of high-standard accommodation options to suit all needs, with accommodation guaranteed in the first year for undergraduate students. The vibrant and friendly campus is the perfect choice for students who want to be close to lectures and facilities, with self-catered halls offering standard and large rooms, all with Wi-Fi, swipe-controlled access, laundry facilities, bicycle storage and student and guest parking included as part of accommodation fees. Accessible rooms are available on request. There are 389 rooms available on the Hartpury campus, with all other rooms located in the Gloucester City accommodation at Blackfriars, managed by Aspire Student Living. Blackfriars offers modern living spaces, large communal areas and en-suite rooms with queen-size beds, with accommodation costs including free high-speed internet, free contents insurance and all utility bills. From September 2026, there will be an alcohol-free hall in every accommodation type, and Hartpury House is quiet and alcohol-free student accommodation only.

Student Safety

Hartpury University prioritises student safety through a comprehensive approach, having achieved the SOS-UK Drug and Alcohol Impact accreditation which reflects a two-year commitment to fostering a safer, healthier campus environment. The institution has introduced alcohol-free accommodation for 2024/2025 with plans to expand, adopted a harm reduction approach in the updated Drug and Alcohol Policy, launched wellbeing drop-ins for drug and alcohol-related issues, and created events and activities to raise awareness and promote student support services. Collaboration with local organizations enhances student safety in Gloucester. There are three designated/deputy safeguarding leads and a safeguarding committee that meets weekly to discuss student safety and specific cases, with support offered to students at risk of abuse, or who have been abused, or who are at risk to themselves or others. Hartpury already had a policy of zero tolerance of sexual violence and stated it would not use Non-Disclosure Agreements for sexual misconduct cases for staff. The Student Assistance Programme is available 24/7, seven days a week, providing wellbeing and safeguarding resources.

Hartpury University's career support is delivered through the Employability, Skills and Careers team, which helps students from their first day with professional, work and skills-based workshops, careers advice and guidance, employability and enterprise support, and help with finding placements. The team can help students enhance employability skills, talk through career options, sharpen up CVs, write covering letters or practice interview skills. The university holds a database of 3,000 local and national businesses offering work placement opportunities, and voluntary charity and part-time on-site working opportunities are sometimes available. Every Hartpury University student is assigned a Placement Tutor who acts as a central contact throughout any work placements, and students can also meet with the placements team at any time. The careers support uses a 3 Pillars Framework – Explore, Experience, Employable – to build self-awareness, set goals, access career-focused learning within courses, engage in placements, projects and real-world opportunities, and develop key skills to prepare for a confident transition into work or further study. The success of the careers support within the Innovation, Careers and Enterprise unit has been recognised, with careers workshop engagement increasing by 84%. Hartpury graduates are highly employable, with 95% in employment, further study or other purposeful activity within 15 months.
