10+2 / Higher Secondary Pass

Applicants must have passed the +2 (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in relevant subjects. 

Compulsory Subjects (for Engineering / B.Tech / B.Sc. in technical streams)

For B.Tech / engineering / technical programs: Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects, along with one additional subject like Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science. 

Entrance Examination

Admission to many UG programs (especially B.Tech) is based on HITS’s own entrance test HITSEEE (Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science Engineering Entrance Exam). 

For programs in Arts / Science / Commerce, “HITSCAT” (Hindustan Common Aptitude Test) may apply. 

Merit / Merit + Entrance Weightage

Selection is done based on a combination of +2 / HSC marks and entrance exam performance, depending on the program. 

Lateral Entry (for B.Tech 2nd Year)

Applicants who have completed a relevant Diploma in Engineering / Technology or a B.Sc. degree with Mathematics may be eligible for lateral entry into the second year of B.Tech, typically with a 50% minimum in qualifying diploma / degree.
