Holland College

Holland College is the official community college for Prince Edward Island, a Canadian province. Captain Samuel Holland, a British Army engineer and surveyor, was the inspiration for the name.

Holland College History

The Government of Prince Edward Island established Holland College in 1969 as part of an education reform policy that saw the closure of the province's two religiously affiliated post-secondary institutions, St. Dunstan's University and Prince of Wales College, and the establishment of the non-denominational University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) and Holland College as part of the Prince Edward Island Comprehensive Development Plan.

The Library is open 24 hours a day to students and employees during exam time, and about 12 hours a day throughout term time.

      Holland College provides housing services to students. If you want to live in one of the Prince of Wales Campus houses in Charlottetown, you must apply for a room and a program at the same time. Students should apply as soon as feasible because they cannot be offered a residence room until they have been accepted into a program. Because rooms are in high demand, students should apply as soon as possible.

Holland College does not provide any information about the student society. Holland College's Student Union hosts a variety of activities where students can meet new people and do what they want based on their own interests.

Holland College sports and fitness

Students at Holland College have access to a sports and fitness centre through the Hurricanes fitness centre. GYMNASIUM Multi-use 9,400 square foot gym with one full court basketball or two cross-court basketball courts, one full court volleyball or two cross-court volleyball courts, and three badminton courts. Indoor walking/running track, fitness studio, first aid/physiotherapy room, four team locker rooms with a change area, lockers, showers, and washrooms, assisted pull-up/dip machine, lat pulldown, cable row, lying leg curl, knee extension, pec dec, cable cross over, medicine balls and dumbbells from 5-50 lbs. Officials' locker room, which includes a changing area, lockers, a shower, and a restroom. Lockers, showers, and washrooms for both men and women. Spin bikes, treadmills, erg rowers, elliptical, and 4front, stationary bikes are part of the cardio and evaluation area.

Holland College Part time jobs
