Yes, while you are enrolled, your student visa allows you to work up to 30 hours per week, provided that the work is compatible with your studies and does not interfere with your course, and that the income derived from such work is not required to support you in the country.
Thanks to new immigration regulations, students can now switch their student visa to a work permit after only one year of residence (previously, three years were required).
