IMT Nord Europe has modern infrastructure spread across its campuses in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (Lille), Douai, Valenciennes, Dunkirk and Alençon. The school has more than 20,000 m² of laboratories and research facilities, supporting work in digital systems, energy and environment, and materials and processes. Its teaching infrastructure includes modern classrooms, digital learning facilities, collaborative workspaces, libraries and specialised laboratories. The Lille and Douai campuses provide libraries with more than 40,000 physical documents, electronic databases, individual study areas, collaborative rooms, computers and research-support services. Student amenities include cafeterias, common rooms, association spaces, sports facilities and accommodation. In Douai, the Maison des Élèves provides student residences and social spaces, while the Lille campus has 170 furnished apartments at the nearby REEFLEX residence. The institution also places emphasis on accessible and inclusive infrastructure, with ramps, elevators, adapted parking, accessible toilets and suitable residential spaces for students with reduced mobility. Student Support

IMT Nord Europe provides a broad range of academic, personal, international and career support services. Its Student Life Office helps students with academic difficulties, personal or social issues, administrative matters and integration, while the International Relations team provides guidance on visa procedures, registration, accommodation and settling into France. International students also receive an international handbook, pre-arrival guidance and regular webinars to help them prepare for life at the school.

The school provides free and confidential psychological support, with a psychologist and social worker available to assist with stress, cultural adjustment, financial difficulties, health concerns and other personal challenges. Students with disabilities receive individualised support, including adapted teaching and examination arrangements, accessibility measures, assistive technologies and a personalised support plan.

Career support is another important component, with assistance for internships, apprenticeships and employment, including support from the Career Development Office, partner companies and alumni. IMT Nord Europe also provides housing support, with more than 1,000 accommodation units across its Lille and Douai sites, and students may be eligible for housing assistance such as ALS.

Student Life

IMT Nord Europe offers a vibrant student experience combining academics, sports, cultural activities, social events and community engagement. The school has around 50 student associations organised through four main offices: the Students’ Office, Arts Office, Sports Office and Humanitarian Office. Students can participate in activities ranging from music, theatre and photography to technology, entrepreneurship, sports and humanitarian projects, helping them develop teamwork, leadership and project-management skills.

Sports are an important part of campus life, with engineering students required to participate in half a day of sport each week. More than 50 sporting disciplines are available across the Lille and Douai campuses, including football, basketball, badminton, swimming, rugby, tennis, climbing, dance and athletics. Students can also participate in inter-university competitions such as the IMT Cartel and Inter-Telecom.

International students are encouraged to take part in International Day, intercultural activities, French-language courses, student associations and integration programmes. The school also provides social spaces such as cafeterias, common rooms, club rooms and libraries, while accommodation is available near both the Lille and Douai campuses.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

IMT Nord Europe provides more than 1,000 accommodation units across its Lille and Douai campuses. In Douai, the Maison des Élèves (MDE) offers 596 rooms across three residences—Lavoisier, Descartes and Condorcet—with furnished rooms or studios, internet, laundry facilities, bicycle parking and common student spaces. For the 2026–27 academic year, rents range from approximately €310 to €470 per month, depending on the room type, with eligible students able to apply for housing assistance.

On the Lille/Villeneuve-d’Ascq campus, students can access the REEFLEX residence, located close to the school, which has 170 furnished apartments reserved for IMT Nord Europe students. Apartments are available in 18 m² and 23 m² formats and include a kitchenette, shower room, storage, furniture and Wi-Fi. Students may also access University of Lille residences and other local housing options.

The university also supports students with the Visale guarantee scheme, which can act as a free rental guarantee for eligible tenants. Accommodation allocation depends on the programme, admission route and availability, so students are advised to apply soon after receiving their admission offer.

Student Safety

IMT Nord Europe places strong emphasis on creating a safe, inclusive and respectful environment across its campuses. The school has a dedicated policy addressing harassment, sexual and gender-based violence, discrimination and other forms of violence, supported by awareness campaigns, student training and designated staff for listening and support. Since 2022, students have also had access to an anonymous reporting platform for reporting discriminatory, offensive or violent behaviour, with cases handled by trained institutional contacts and, where necessary, health professionals or disciplinary authorities.

The school also provides free and confidential psychological and social support, with a psychologist and social worker available to students, while international students receive additional assistance with settling into France, healthcare and administrative procedures. In its 2025 Respect-Equality Charter, IMT Nord Europe reaffirmed its commitment to physical and psychological safety, respect, equality and zero tolerance for discrimination, applying these principles to teaching, accommodation, social activities and digital environments.

Career Support

IMT Nord Europe has a strong campus-recruitment system closely connected with industry. Its Professional Development Department supports students with career planning, CV and cover-letter preparation, interview practice, pitch simulations and guidance on finding internships and work-study positions. Students also have access to an internal database of opportunities from French and international industry partners.

The university organises an annual Forum Entreprises, bringing together around 1,200 engineering students, apprentices, specialised master’s students and recent graduates with employers offering internships, apprenticeship contracts and first jobs. The 2026 forum is scheduled for 17 November 2026. IMT Nord Europe also conducts dedicated apprenticeship and professional-contract jobdating events, while companies can recruit students through internships, projects and direct employment opportunities.

The school has particularly strong links with engineering industries in energy, nuclear engineering, industrial engineering, rail infrastructure, materials and composites, IT, telecommunications and networks. Its industry partnerships also include site visits, professional conferences, CV workshops and interview simulations, helping students transition from academic study to employment.
