Admission is primarily through national-level channels: the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT), the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) fellowship, a high rank in JEE (Advanced), and for top performers in certain State and Central Board Class XII examinations. Detailed eligibility criteria and seat allocation for each channel are published in the annual admission notification.
For the BS-MS program, there is generally no further interview round. Final selection and seat allocation are based solely on the merit rank from the applicable admission channel (IAT/KVPY/JEE(Advanced)/Board). Selected candidates are invited for online counselling and seat acceptance through a centralized process.
