High School Diploma / Equivalent

Applicants must have a diploma from an accredited high school, or an equivalency diploma (e.g. GED). 

Academic Record / GPA & Course Rigor

Review emphasizes high school average, the rigor of coursework, and academic units (English, math, sciences, social studies, etc.). 

The average undergraduate GPA among admitted students is around 3.17 as per some reporting. 

Standardized Tests (SAT / ACT)

Historically, SAT or ACT results are considered for admission. 

However, under a test-optional policy (Fall 2023 – Spring 2025), SAT / ACT scores are not required and not considered if not submitted. 

Submission of Official Documents

Applicants must submit their official high school transcripts, test scores (if applicable), and/or GED credentials. 

The standardized test scores (if used) are to be sent to CUNY code “2950”. 

Other Requirements / Options

Applicants may request application fee waivers, especially if veterans, active duty, or via high school counselors. 

Transfer applicants must submit official transcripts from all prior colleges; if fewer than 24 transfer credits, also high school transcripts and may need test scores or readiness proofs.
