Johnson and Wales University (JWU), was established in 1914 as a private institution in Rhode Island USA. The campus is located in the heart of Providence city spread across 174 acres of land.
The Downcity campus comprises of 7 Colleges: The College of Business, The College of Arts and Sciences, The College of Culinary Arts, The College of Hospitality Management, The College of Engineering and Design, The College of Health and Wellness and The College of Online Education.
The university has over 9,000 full-time students out of which nearly 8,500 students are enrolled in undergraduate programs. There are 630 faculties and the student-faculty ratio is 19:1.
JWU has over 60 buildings, including classrooms, labs, libraries, offices, residence halls, dining halls, recreations and physical plant activities. Nearly 95% of the students receive institutional scholarships or grants and making higher education affordable for students. Furthermore, JWU has three more campuses in North Miami, Florida; Denver, Colorado, and Charlotte, North Carolina. The Providence campus is affiliated with the NCAA and GNAC and features 27 varsity teams.
