The below information is required while
completing the university application :
1. Completed Undergraduate Application
Start with the online application. Whether you're a domestic or international student, you must fill it out fully and accurately. Make sure all schools you’ve attended are listed with dates. That’s your foundation.
2. Official Secondary School Transcript(s)
You need transcripts that show the subjects you took, your grades, and the graduation date. If you're still in school, submit a transcript with completed work and expected graduation date. A decision may be made based on copies, but official documents are required before classes begin.
3. Certified English Translations (If Needed)
If your transcript isn’t in English, you must submit a certified, word-for-word translation alongside it. JWU won’t proceed without it.
4. Proof of English Proficiency (If Applicable)
If English isn't your first language, show your ability with a recognized test score—TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, etc.—unless your previous schooling was in English. This document is mandatory for admission.
JWU’s Providence campus has earned a spot among the top-tier Most Innovative Schools in the Regional Universities North category, ranking #16 by U.S. News & World Report. It’s not just a number—this label reflects how JWU keeps reinventing itself: updating curricula, boosting faculty development, leveling up campus life, and integrating technology and facilities that serve the real world. The community vibe, the forward-looking programs—it’s all part of why this recognition hits. It’s about staying relevant, connected, and absolutely equipped to prepare students for what’s next
JWU isn’t playing around when it comes to culinary and hospitality. Providence tied for #2, Charlotte ranked #4 on College Factual’s 2025 Best Culinary Arts Schools list. And Niche’s 2025 rankings put Charlotte at #5 and Providence at #7 among Best Colleges for Culinary Arts in America. These aren’t casual mentions—they’re a testament to the long-standing legacy of hands-on kitchens, mentor chefs, labs that smell like innovation, and a sterling reputation that attracts the best culinary talent—and keeps it.
What this really means is JWU goes beyond on-campus clout. Their College of Professional Studies clinched a 4-star rating from Money’s 2024 “Best Colleges for Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs”. And U.S. News jumped aboard too—recognizing JWU Online in 2025 as one of the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, including special nod for Veterans. For students who need flexibility, JWU isn’t just available—it’s top-tier
JWU’s reach goes beyond U.S. borders and the city limits of Providence and Charlotte. The university hosts students from over 54 countries (2022–23), and alumni have planted their flag in 128–130 countries worldwide. That global presence isn’t about far-flung brochures—it’s about crafting a network and mindset that travels, collaborates, and innovates. It means not just local impact—but international influence
Let’s break it down: affordability matters, and JWU gets it. Both Providence and Charlotte campuses scored big as Best Value schools, ranked by U.S. News & World Report. Providence jumped 10 spots to #36, while Charlotte held a strong #13 on the list—all thanks to generous financial aid and tangible return on investment. JWU isn’t just promising quality education; they’re delivering it without emptying your bank account. It’s real—financial support meets academic rigor
What’s new on the academic front? JWU has rolled out advanced and accredited health programs like an Accelerated BSN (nursing), Master of Public Health, and Doctor of Physical Therapy. These aren’t just passing mentions—they're strategic expansions into vital, growing fields. This move means JWU is stepping up, offering more ways for students to enter essential healthcare professions—with rigor, accreditation, and real impact.
JWU, in partnership with University of Rhode Island, secured over $270,000 in USDA Higher Education Challenge grant funding. That’s building a shared research fellowship program—giving undergrads and faculty a shot at real food systems research, hands-on, interdisciplinary, reflective of real-world needs. That three-year program includes 8 faculty fellowships and 40 undergraduate experiences—and a strong inclusion of underrepresented minority students. That’s institutional commitment with grit and purpose.
