A private university in Sweden, Jönköping University has the authority to provide bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in specific fields. The three technical postgraduate disciplines of machine design, materials and manufacturing, and production systems allow the college to grant degrees in the field of industrial product development. The preservation and restoration of people's health, well-being, and welfare; cooperative industrial product development, particularly applications in manufacturing and related service industries; entrepreneurship, ownership, and renewal; and the conditions of learning and communication are the main areas of research. The first PhDs were granted in 2000, while the first professors were appointed in 1995.
Approximately five minutes' walk from the Central Station, the JU Campus is located in the heart of Jönköping, on the western coast of Lake Munksjön and close to the south shore of Lake Vättern. Gränna is the location of JU's other campus. It is intended for students enrolled in route programs. From Campus Gränna, students can go to Campus Jönköping by bus 121 or 122.
