Yes: On-campus employment is allowed up to 20 hours per week during classes, and full-time during breaks, with ISSS approval kennesaw.edu . Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is permitted during your program if the work is integral to your degree and approved by the institution Wikipedia . After graduation, students may apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT)—a 12-month work authorization in a field related to their degree. STEM graduates may qualify for extensions if working for employers enrolled in E-Verify.
Students completing their program must apply for OPT before or within the 60-day grace period after graduation. OPT allows full- or part-time work related to their field of study. Approval is required from USCIS, and students must coordinate with ISSS to start the application process. Full-time on-campus employment cannot coincide with OPT.
The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office assists with F-1 and J-1 visa processes, employment authorization, check-ins, Social Security support letters, and workshops (e.g., CPT/OPT). They guide you through documentation and immigration requirements.
