Quebec City, Canada
1. Academic Qualifications:
• Applicants must hold a diploma attesting to 13 years of education equivalent to a Québec Diploma of College Studies (DCS, or DEC in French). For example:
• French baccalaureate
• Baccalaureate from institutions in most French-speaking African countries
• General Certificate of Education (GCE) from an English-speaking country with 3 “A Levels” in subjects preparing for the desired university program
• Alternatively, applicants holding a pre-university diploma attesting to 12 years of education may be required to complete a qualifying year of 30 credits at Université Laval before starting their program.
2. Program-Specific Requirements:
• Some programs have specific admission criteria, such as prerequisite courses, interviews, or portfolio submissions. These requirements are listed in the individual program descriptions.
3. Language Proficiency:
• Since most courses at Université Laval are offered in French, non-francophone applicants must demonstrate adequate knowledge of the French language. After applying, non-francophone applicants may be required to take the Test de connaissance du français (TCF) to assess their French proficiency level. Based on TCF results, applicants may need to take French immersion courses in addition to qualifying courses.
