Linkoping University History:
Linkoping University, also known as LiU is a state university which was established in the 1960s and is located in Linköping, Sweden. It was decided by The Swedish National legislative assembly to locate some programmes within the fields of technology and medicine to Linköping in 1965. In 1967, a stream of Stockholm University was placed in Linkoping University, offering education within humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.  Linköping University was granted full university status in 1975 and is now one of the largest academic institutions in Sweden. 

Linkoping University Programs, Courses, and Schools:
Linkoping University comprises three faculties; Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Faculty of Educational Sciences. Along with these faculties, the university also comprises an institute i.e, The Institute of Technology at Linköping University which is the faculty of Science and Engineering at Linkoping. The institute is located in Linkoping and Norrkoping, Sweden. The institute focuses its research and education in the areas of information technology, industrial engineering, and management, materials technology, biomedical engineering, applied physics, production engineering and electronics. 

Linkoping University offers 26 international master's programmes taught entirely in English, in various subject areas. The university has recently launched their first bachelor’s program in the field of Medicine and health sciences. Most of the programmes are LiU are interdisciplinary, combining different courses like industrial management and engineering, medicine and engineering, or integrating economics, law, and languages. The Medical Programme and the Department of Electrical Engineering were recognized as Centres of Excellence in Higher Education. 

Linkoping University Campuses:
Linkoping University consists of three main campuses located in Linkoping and Norrkoping. The campus Valla and the University hospital campus are located in Linkoping whereas; Campus Norrkoping is located in the centre of Norrkoping. Majority of students and researchers study and work is conducted in Campus Valla and the University Hospital comprises the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Along with these three main campuses, the university comprises another campus located on the island of Lidingo just outside central Stockholm. The campus is known as Campus Lidingo and offers undergraduate programmes in Furniture Design, Cabinet-making, and Furniture Upholstery.

All these University campuses provide the students with different libraries and comprise Articles, books, journals, and database of all sorts. The students can also request for interlibrary loans for books and articles which helps them in reservations and renewal of books online. Linkoping University also consists of different research centres, some of them are; Center for Social och Affective Neuroscience, Centre for Systems Neurobiology, Mucosa Infection and Inflammation Center, LiU Cancer Research Network, Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine, Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine at Linköping University and many more. The university has 63 agreements with selected partner institutions outside Europe and over 500 Erasmus agreements with approximately 300 universities in Europe. 

Linkoping University Achievements:
Students from the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine were awarded by the “Article of the year” at the Health University Research Symposium. Professor Lars Eriksson of the Division of Vehicular Systems at Linköping University has received an award at the 2018 Dynamic Systems and Control Conference in Atlanta, USA. 

Linkoping University USP: 
Linkoping University provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the bases of academic excellence. Students at LiU have access to the internet and computers 24 hours a day on all the campuses. The students get access to computer rooms through their LiU-Card which allows them to log on to the computers and will also receive access to the LiU learning platform Lisam. One of the main reason why Linkoping University was named as “Student City of The Year” is that the student culture in LiU is flourishing, and there are always events, parties and loads of organizations to join, for every interest. 

Linkoping University Notable Alumni: 
The list of Notable Alumni of Linkoping University comprises many well-known personalities some of them are; Carl-Henric Svanberg who was the Chairman of BP and Volvo, Gustav Fridolin Minister of Education in the Government of Sweden, Bertil Andersson, President of Nanyang Technological University, and many more.
