Lulea University of Technology is a Swedish university located in the city of Lulea, the northernmost city of the country. The university was established in 1971 as Hogskoleenheten I Lulea and was granted university status in year 1997 by the Government of Sweden. The university enrols over 17,000 students and employs 1600 staff.

The smaller campus in Pitea offers Music and Media courses.
