Can I apply for a Master's programme if I am still completing my Bachelor's degree?

You can apply if you are in the final year of your Bachelor's programme, even if you have not yet received your final degree documents.

Where and when do I apply for a degree programme?

You apply online via the national application website, universityadmissions.se. Applications for most international programmes are accepted from mid-October to 15 January each year for studies starting at the end of August.

What documents are required to complete my application?

You must submit your official certificates, diplomas and transcripts that prove you meet the admission requirements, proof of English language skills (e.g. TOEFL or IELTS test)

I am a non-EU/EEA student. What scholarship can I apply for to cover my tuition fees at Lund University?

Lund University offers the Lund University Global Scholarship, which is a selective, merit-based programme that awards grants to top academic students from outside the EU/EEA who are applying for degree programmes.

If I receive a Lund University Global Scholarship, will it also cover my living costs?

Scholarships from Lund University cover tuition fees only – living costs are not included. Recipients must still meet the Swedish Migration Agency's requirements by funding their living expenses independently.

How do I find accommodation as an international student at Lund University?

Applicants can find housing through services like LU Accommodation, which manages rooms and flats for international degree-seeking students (especially those with a housing guarantee) and exchange students.

What should a non-EU student apply for after being offered a place at Lund University, a visa or a residence permit?

When accepted to studies in Sweden lasting more than three months, you should not apply for a visa to come to Sweden. Instead, you should apply for a residence permit for studies via the Swedish Migration Agency's website.

Can I stay and look for a job in Sweden after graduating from Lund University?

Yes. Sweden offers a residence permit for looking for work after studies (job search permit). You can apply for this permit after completing your studies, which allows you to stay in Sweden for up to one year to seek employment or start a business. The permit can be applied for online via the Swedish Migration Agency's website.
