Clinical experience begins very early. Students interact with patients within their first few months through the Clinical Apprenticeship course. This early immersion continues throughout the curriculum with pre-clerkship selectives and full-time clerkships in the major medical specialties.
Selectives are immersive experiences in the pre-clerkship phase that allow students to explore different medical specialties or research areas. Clerkships are the core clinical rotations in the later phase of training, such as Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Neurology, where students work directly on patient care teams.
