Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at MGH Institute of Health Professions

Completed Application: Submit an online application through the MGH IHP admissions portal.

Bachelor's Degree: Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or an international equivalent. Applicants with degrees from non-U.S. institutions are required to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation.

Official Transcripts: Provide official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

Letters of Recommendation: Submit at least one letter of recommendation from individuals who can assess your academic ability, character, integrity, and potential for graduate study. If you graduated from an academic program within the last five years, the letter should come from an academic reference.

Personal Statement: Write a statement of intent addressing your motivations for pursuing the specific master's program, how you will contribute to the learning community, aspects of yourself you hope to develop, and what success in the program looks like to you. This should be one to three pages in length.

Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV): Provide a current resume or CV detailing your educational background, work experience, and any relevant certifications or volunteer work.

Standardized Test Scores: Some programs may require submission of standardized test scores, such as the GRE. Please refer to your program of interest for specific test requirements. For programs that require the GRE, MGH IHP requires scores taken within five years of the application deadline.

English Language Proficiency: If English is not your first language and/or your undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country, you are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS. The test must have been taken within two years of the application deadline, with a minimum overall TOEFL score of 89 (internet-based) or 6.5 IELTS.

Interview: Qualified applicants may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.

Background Check: Upon acceptance, students are required to complete a comprehensive background check prior to enrollment.
