Mid Sweden University’s campuses in Sundsvall and Östersund are managed by its Division of Infrastructure, which oversees premises, furnishings, maintenance and long-term planning of buildings. The campuses include modern lecture halls, laboratories, student-union buildings, and green outdoor spaces—such as the Sundsvall campus’s leafy setting near “Åkroken” and a promenade along the river. The library buildings and other facilities (for example self-service access and study zones) are integrated into campus life.
Student life at Mid Sweden University is active and varied. At the Sundsvall campus, students benefit from a campus location just a short walk from the city centre, with facilities such as outdoor volleyball and basketball courts, a student pub and common areas in the Student Union House. At the Östersund campus, the proximity to nature and winter-sports facilities gives students access to skiing, trekking, fishing and other outdoor activities year-round. The student unions organise welcome weeks, social events, parties, trips and student-association activities, promoting both social life and academic support.

Mid Sweden University offers robust career-services via its Career Centre, which supports students in preparing for the labour market through workshops, mentorships, recruitment fairs, and digital platforms. One such digital service is JobTeaser, which enables students and alumni to connect with employers, find internships, job postings, and degree-project collaborations. The university also provides guidance on working in Sweden (including for non-EU/EEA students) and helps students align their academic achievements with future employment opportunities.

A process developed for kraft-pulp industry waste (black liquor) that includes oxidising the liquor to remove total reduced sulphur (TRS) compounds, then acidifying to precipitate lignin; this enhances filtration, reduces acid requirements and improves the recovery of lignin with higher dry-solids content.
This invention combines a transmission electron microscope (TEM) with an atomic force microscopy (AFM) device inserted into the TEM, thereby enhancing the measurement capabilities by integrating both imaging/surface interaction techniques in one instrument.
