Murray State University Visa and Immigration

Murray State University students can apply for both F1 and J1 visas. They can apply for Visa once their admission is confirmed by the university. Once the university accepts their admission they can then pay the SEVIS Fee. After receiving receipt of the fee they can apply for a Visa appointment in their home country. There are some important documents that have to be carried out during the interview and also while arriving at the US. They are as follows:

• Valid I-20 or DS-2019 
• SEVIS fee payment receipt
• At least two passport-style photographs, taken recently
• Proof that you have permanent residence outside the U.S.
• Current and original financial documentation
• Evidence of ties to your home country

After arriving in the US they should be aware of how to withhold the Visa and the rules that they need to follow. The rules are as follows:

• Students have to maintain full-time enrollment
• Not allowed to work off campus without any authority allowing
• Not allowed to work for more than 20 hours on the campus
• The passport should be valid
• I-20 should be valid
