Nanjing Medical University, originally established in 1934 as the National Jiangsu Medical College in Zhenjiang, has a long and distinguished history. In 1957, it relocated to Nanjing and was renamed Nanjing Medical College. By 1962, it became one of the first universities in China to launch a six-year medical education program.
