Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon

1. International students applying for an undergraduate programme at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL) must apply under the International Student Statute, provided they do not hold Portuguese or another European Union nationality and meet the eligibility criteria.

2. Applicants must possess a Portuguese secondary school diploma, a qualification legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education, or a qualification that grants access to higher education in their home country.

3. In addition, applicants must have the required academic background in the subjects relevant to their chosen programme and satisfy any programme specific prerequisites, particularly for courses in engineering, health sciences, or the performing arts.

4. Applicants must also demonstrate adequate proficiency in the language of instruction.

5. For programmes taught in Portuguese, students are generally required to achieve B2 level proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) by the end of their first academic year.
