1. International students applying for an undergraduate programme at the Private Technical University of Loja (UTPL) generally need to provide a valid passport or other identification document, a secondary school/bachelor equivalent qualification, and the documents required for enrolment.

2. For a foreign high school qualification, applicants must obtain recognition or homologation of their secondary school certificate from Ecuador’s Ministry of Education if it is not already registered in the Ecuadorian system.

3. The university also requires a current passport sized photograph and completion of its enrolment/commitment documentation.

4. For on campus undergraduate programmes, applicants must complete UTPL’s admission process and take the admission examination, which evaluates their aptitudes and skills before enrolment.

5. Applicants to the open and distance learning modality do not take an admission test and instead complete the registration process.

6. International students should ensure that foreign academic documents are properly legalised or apostilled, and documents issued in languages other than Spanish generally require a legalised or apostilled Spanish translation.

7. For students who need to study physically in Ecuador, appropriate immigration/student visa requirements must also be fulfilled after admission.
