RIC offers several residence halls—Browne, Thorp, Weber, Sweet, Penfield, and Willard—housing about 1,000 undergraduates in single and double rooms, suite- or apartment-style. Graduate students may live in Browne or Penfield Halls designed for upper-class and graduate residents.
For the 2023-2024 academic year, annual housing rates ranged from approximately $7,706 to $8,940, depending on hall and room type; a $200 non-refundable housing deposit is required. On-campus residents must purchase one of three meal plans: Plan A: 17 meals/week + $400 flex points — $3,281 per semester Plan B: 15 meals/week + $300 flex points — $3,090 per semester Plan C: 13 meals/week + $250 flex points — $2,926 per semester Commuters can opt for a commuter meal plan: 3 meals/week + $50 flex points for $557/semester.
While RIC does provide housing for many students, on-campus housing is not guaranteed for first-year students.
