Riga Stradins University is a public university which was established in the year 1950 and is located in Riga, Latvia. The university has been recognized as the best university with the highest reputation in Latvia which has gained the highest rating among the 10 largest universities in Latvia. 

 

Riga Stradins University comprises nine faculties; Faculty of European Studies, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Rehabilitation, Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Continuing Education. The university has two departments; Department of Humanities and Department of International Students. The university includes one Language Centre as well as one Health Care Institution. The university also comprises of a Red Cross Medical College located in Latvia. 

Riga Stradins University has more than 8,670 students which include 150 P.h.D. students and 2,104 International Students. The university has more than 445 faculty members and the Student-Faculty ratio is 1:10. 

Riga Stradins University provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university comprises four Museums; RSU Museum, RSU Anatomy Museum, RSU historical virtual exhibition, and the Museum of Theatrum Anatomicum. The university also has ‘The Great Hall’ which was established in 2009 with a mission to serve education, science, and art. The Great Hall is a place where many academic and social events take place, for example, enrolment and graduation ceremonies, scientific conferences, inauguration and anniversary celebrations, concerts and other events.
