Sofia University is Bulgaria's oldest institution of higher education. The university building, which was founded on 1 October 1888, was built between 1924 and 1934 with the financial support of the brothers Evlogi Georgiev and Hristo Georgiev (whose sculptures are now on its façade) and has an area of 18,624 m2 with a total of 324 premises.

The dormitories are in Student City, near the foothills of Vitosha Mountain, about 25-30 minutes by bus from Sofia’s city center.
Rooms are available for two or three students, furnished with essential amenities. Monthly rent ranges from 60 to 80 EUR.
Students must create an account on the university’s accommodation website and submit an application, which is reviewed by the Accommodation Committee. Priority is given to those without housing in Sofia.
