Completion of A–G (college preparatory) high school courses: 15 year-long courses with grade “C” or better.
These include subjects such as English (4 years), Mathematics (3 years minimum), U.S. History/Social Science, Lab Science, a foreign language, arts, and electives.
GPA and eligibility index: Applicants whose GPA in A–G courses (10th–12th grade) meets thresholds may be admitted or be assessed via a “Multi Factor Score” if borderline.
For California residents, a 2.50 “A–G GPA” is one benchmark for eligibility.
Self-reported transcripts initially: Applicants are allowed to self-report grades; official transcripts are required later if admitted.
SAT / ACT: SSU is test-optional; SAT or ACT scores may be considered if submitted, but are not required.
Out-of-state / nonresident / international applicants:
For majors not impacted, a GPA of 3.0 or higher may qualify for admission.
For transfer applicants, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for “direct admission” for many majors.
Applicants with GPAs between 2.5 and 2.99 may be evaluated via “Multi Factor Score.”
Foreign / international coursework must be evaluated equivalently where required.
