Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at Southeastern Louisiana University

Applicants must submit a completed application and required documents by the published deadlines.

High school transcript showing coursework and grades is required.

High school coursework expectations: Southeastern requires or recommends a “college preparatory” curriculum (English, math, science, social studies, electives) for degree-seeking students.

SAT / ACT: Southeastern uses ACT / SAT scores in admissions decisions.

For freshman applicants, Southeastern is “selective admission”, meaning academic metrics (GPA, coursework rigor, test scores) matter.

Transfer students:

  • Those with fewer than 18 college credit hours must satisfy the freshman admission criteria.

  • Those with 18 or more credit hours need a minimum 2.0 GPA on all college-level work.

  • They must be eligible to return to the last institution they attended.

Materials required for freshmen include: transcripts, test scores (if taken), proof of immunization, and possibly transcripts for dual enrollment / college credit earned in high school.

International undergraduate applicants must satisfy English proficiency requirements (TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent) unless exempt by prior U.S. education or English as a native language.
