Southeastern Louisiana University was established in 1925 as Hammond Junior College. It is a public university situated in Hammond, Louisiana. Its name changed to Southeastern Louisiana College in 1928, and it finally gained recognition as Southeastern Louisiana University in 1970.

Livingston Hall, St. Tammany Hall, and Washington Hall offer single-suite rooms at $3,900 per semester, and The Village Residence Hall (Village M) has double rooms priced at $2,750 per semester. All rooms come with moveable furniture, wireless internet, and utility services, with shared bathrooms for each room.
