Yes. SAU has a two-year residency requirement. All full-time undergraduate students must live on campus until they have completed at least 60 college credit hours or have reached 21 years of age. Students who live with parents in the local community may apply for a housing exemption. The university provides men's, women's, and co-ed residence halls, as well as three apartment complexes, including University Village and University Court Apartments.
You must first be accepted for admission to the university. Once admitted, you can log in to the student portal (MySAU) and access the Housing Portal to complete the application. A non-refundable $100 Housing Reservation Fee is required to apply for housing. For apartments, a total of $200 reservation fee is required. This fee is not a deposit but is used to process your housing application. Move-in Day is officially the Sunday before classes begin in the fall and spring semesters.
