General Graduate Admission Criteria: 

A completed baccalaureate (undergraduate) or graduate degree from an accredited institution (U.S. or equivalent evaluated degree) is required. 

Official transcripts from all prior institutions attended. 

Preferred cumulative undergraduate GPA: 3.0 / B or higher on a 4.0 scale; some programs may enforce a higher minimum. 

Demonstrated ability in writing / scholarly potential. 

For those whose degrees were obtained outside the U.S.: credential evaluation and English translation of documents. 

English proficiency requirement: e.g. TOEFL (iBT 80) or IELTS (6.5). 

Some graduate programs require additional materials: essay / statement of purpose, résumé / CV, letters of recommendation, and possibly interviews.
