Essay / statement of purpose or narrative response as part of the application 

Résumé / work history detailing professional experience 

Standardized test scores (GRE, GMAT) — required only for certain programs; some programs waive these or make them optional 

For international graduate students: proof of English proficiency, or acceptance of English tests (TOEFL / IELTS / Duolingo) when prior education was not in English 

Some graduate programs have resident / in-person components, or require physical attendance for residencies (e.g. EdD).
