Students at SGU receive support throughout their medical education, from student support services during the preclinical and basic sciences years to ongoing support from the Office of Career Guidance and Student Development when students enter the clinical years and thereafter. St. George’s University’s Department of Educational Services (DES), provides access to 290 small study groups to help students in their chosen field of study. Time management, study and test-taking skills, and help with reducing anxiety are just a few of the services offered by Close to 100 percent of the University’s students avail themselves of the support offered through a variety of innovative programs.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

St. George's University (SGU) provides a range of housing options to accommodate students' diverse needs, with on-campus housing guaranteed for all first-term students across its programs. Options include single rooms, shared suites with common kitchens and bathrooms, and accommodations for couples. After the first term, on-campus housing is not guaranteed, and students must participate in a housing lottery. SGU also supports students in finding off-campus housing with helpful resources and guidance. Housing exceptions are made for students under 18, married students, pet owners, and local Grenadian students living on the island.

St. George’s University (SGU) in Grenada ensures a safe and secure environment through a robust safety infrastructure. The campus is patrolled 24/7 by uniformed security officers and supported by a trained K9 unit. A dedicated Command Center coordinates all security and facility operations around the clock. SGU also partners with the Royal Grenadian Police Force for joint safety initiatives and emergency drills. Emergency medical services are available through trained security personnel, and students can access help quickly using the “SGU Safe” mobile app, which shares their real-time location with responders.

The Office of Career Guidance and Student Development (OCG) assists students in the Doctor of Medicine program to find their way through residency training and licensure procedures effectively. Faculty and alumni staff the OCG, who advise SGU students when preparing for licensing examinations. They offer counseling in specialty and residency selection, as well as when students go through the application process in the US and UK. Areas that students are supported within are preparation for the required comprehensive examinations, the USMLE Step 1, clinical rotation time schedules, and residency training opportunities.
