SUNY Downstate requires international undergraduate applicants to submit official secondary school records, frequently accompanied by a certified English translation and, if the education was completed overseas, a course-by-course evaluation from an organization approved by NACES. Along with meeting the standards for English language competency and meeting the specific prerequisites for their chosen program—such as the College of Nursing or School of Health Professions—they must also show that they have the financial means to fund their expenditures.
