Troy University is a multicampus university with its primary campus located in college town of Troy in Alabama. Troy University Police Department is an on-campus Police and Campus Security Team responsible for ensuring safety and security of the students. The campus is monitored by CCTV camera and assistance is just a phone call away in cases of emergencies. The crime rate around the university campus and the housing is very low and Troy is a safe town to live in. However, in case of emergencies, students should dial 911 to avail assistance from the Police, Fire, or Ambulance.

The Residential Life at the university is bustling with activity and has a community feel to it. Most newly arrived students live on-campus which allows them to make friends with the locals as well as the students from overseas. Apart from that, the student society also organises a number of social and cultural events at the halls of residence.
