To be considered for freshman admission to the University of California, Davis, international students must meet specific academic and language proficiency requirements.
Academic Requirements:
Secondary Education Completion: You must have completed secondary school and earned a certificate of completion that qualifies you for university admission in your home country.
Subject Requirements: Complete 15 year-long academic courses with a minimum GPA of 3.4, including:
2 years of history/social science
4 years of composition and literature in your language of instruction
3 years of college-preparatory mathematics
2 years of college-preparatory science
2 years of a second language
1 year of visual and performing arts
1 additional course from any of the subjects above
English Language Proficiency:
If your secondary education was not in English, you must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
TOEFL: Minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based test.
IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 or higher.
