1.    Academic Preparation:

    •    High School Coursework: Applicants are expected to complete a series of college-preparatory courses, commonly referred to as the “A-G” subject requirements:

    •    History/Social Science: 2 years

    •    English: 4 years

    •    Mathematics: 3 years required (4 years recommended)

    •    Laboratory Science: 2 years required (3 years recommended)

    •    Language Other Than English: 2 years required (3 years recommended)

    •    Visual and Performing Arts: 1 year

    •    College-Preparatory Elective: 1 year

 

    2.    Grade Point Average (GPA):

    •    A minimum GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale is required for non-California residents. The middle 50% of admitted students have a GPA ranging from 3.69 to 4.11. 

    3.    Standardized Test Scores:

    •    As of recent admissions cycles, UC Riverside has adopted a test-optional policy, meaning SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission. However, if submitted, they may be considered as part of the application. 

    4.    Application Materials:

    •    Application Form: Submit through the University of California application portal.

    •    Application Fee: $80 for international applicants.

    •    Transcripts: Official high school transcripts are required.

    •    Personal Insight Questions: Applicants must respond to four out of eight questions to provide insight into their experiences and aspirations.

    •    Letters of Recommendation: Not required for most programs.

    •    English Proficiency: Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency through tests such as:

    •    TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 80

    •    IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5
