Candidates must demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum B2 level, which can be documented with an IELTS score of 5.5, a TOEFL score of 72, or other accepted certificates like CPE, CAE, or FCE

When does the academic year begin and end at UE Katowice?

The academic year is divided into two semesters. The winter semester runs from October to January with exams in February. The summer semester runs from mid-February to mid-July with exams in June

What documents are required to apply for a Master's program?

Applicants must upload scanned copies of their original higher education diploma (Bachelor's degree) with a supplement, a sworn translation of these documents into English or Polish, a passport, proof of English proficiency, and a payment confirmation for the 85 PLN (or 20 EUR) application fee to the IRK system

Is there an entrance exam or interview for Master's programs?

Candidates are generally accepted on the basis of an online interview conducted via Google Meet. However, graduates of economic universities within the EU are exempt from this interview, provided they can document their English proficiency at a minimum B2 level .

What types of scholarships are available for international students?

International students enrolled at UE Katowice can apply for scholarships coordinated by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Information on these specific programs is available on the NAWA website

When are the deadlines to apply for scholarships for the academic year?

For the 2024/25 academic year, applications for the need-based scholarship, Rector's scholarship, and scholarship for students with disabilities had to be registered in the USOSweb system by October 21, 2024. Emergency financial aid can be applied for throughout the year if qualifying circumstances arise

Does the university provide dormitories for international students?

For exchange students, the university typically does not provide its own dormitory spaces. Students are advised to rent an apartment privately, with costs ranging from approximately 150 to 250 euros per month

How do I apply for a visa to study at UE Katowice?

You must apply for a national "D" type visa at a Polish consulate in your home country. The process involves finding the correct consulate, setting an appointment, preparing the necessary documents (including the university's acceptance letter), submitting your application, and paying the visa fee. You can start this process up to three months before your planned arrival

After arriving in Poland, what must I do to legalize my stay?

After arriving with a visa, you must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit before your visa expires. You should submit this application while you are legally in Poland. If approved, you will receive a Temporary Residence Card (an ID card) valid for 15 months initially, which can be renewed for the duration of your studies .
