Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at University of Hagen

Academic Eligibility:

Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree (Bachelor, Diplom, or Magister) with a minimum standard duration of six semesters.

Degrees must align with or closely correspond to the intended Master’s subject. For example:

Master’s in Computer Science requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science (or equivalent) .

Master’s in Data Science requires a substantial Data Science or Computer Science background (~90 ECTS overlap is often required). 

Master’s in Political Science requires previous study in Political Science or a highly related discipline. 

Language Proficiency:

Degrees are usually conducted in German, so C1-level German proficiency (TestDaF, DSH, telc) is required for non-native applicants.

English tests are generally not required for German-taught Master’s programmes.

Application Periods:-

Same deadlines as Bachelor’s:

Winter semester: 1 June – 31 July

Summer semester: 1 December – 31 January
