Higher Education Entrance Qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung)
You must hold a German Abitur or recognized equivalent from your home country. International qualifications are assessed via the Anabin Database or through Uni-Assist procedures. Studienkolleg may be required if the qualification is not recognized. (§?38 Hamburg Higher Education Act applies)
Language Proficiency
Most undergraduate programs require CEFR German C1 proficiency.
Programs delivered partially in English may allow CEFR B2 and a recognized English test score (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL).

Some fields (e.g. Medicine, Psychology, Education, Music, Design) may include additional selection procedures such as aptitude tests (e.g. HAM?Nat, ITB, PhaST), interviews, or portfolios. Admission restrictions (Numerus Clausus) apply to competitive subjects.
