Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at University of Innsbruck

Applicants must hold a school-leaving certificate (secondary school leaving certificate / university entrance qualification) that qualifies them for higher education in their country. 

If needed, additional entrance qualification requirements specific to the desired subject must be satisfied (e.g. prerequisites in science or mathematics) depending on the faculty. 

Applicants must submit:

 • Curriculum vitae (CV) as part of the online application 

 • Valid identity document (passport or identity card) 

 • If documents are in a foreign language, they must be translated into German or English (with proper certification). 

 • Proof of German language ability (at least level A2 for application; B2 for actual admission) where required. 

For non-EEA / non-EU / stateless applicants, similar documents plus perhaps additional verification are required (e.g. transcript of records, entrance qualifications) in the online application. 

Some bachelor programmes have selection or additional admission procedures (e.g. teaching programmes, psychology, sport science), where extra tests or evaluations are required. 

Application periods: for winter semester, general admission runs 1 April to 5 September; for summer semester 1 September to 5 February (for programmes without special selection).
