Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at University of Innsbruck

 

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution in a related field. Nil or limited gap between prior degree and proposed master’s. 

Must submit required documents including:

 • Official academic transcript of the Bachelor’s degree 

 • Bachelor’s certificate or official notice (“Bescheid”) confirming award of the degree 

 • Diploma Supplement (if available) 

 • Curriculum vitae (CV) 

 • Valid identification / passport, passport photograph 

 • Proof of German or English language proficiency, if required for the programme. 

Documents not in German or English must be translated and certified. 

Some master’s programmes have special admission / selection procedures (e.g. Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies has limited number of seats, requires a motivation letter, and possibly a written test and interview). 

Application deadlines:

 • For EEA/European applicants, the winter semester deadline is 5 September; summer semester 5 February. 

 • For non-EEA / international applicants, deadlines are earlier (e.g. 15 May for winter intake, 15 October for summer). 

For some specialized master’s (e.g. Pharmaceutical Sciences), an admission test or interview may be required.
