Frequently Asked Questions

No, the University itself does not directly manage student housing. Instead, it collaborates with KOAS and Soihtu Housing, which are the primary housing providers for students in Jyväskylä.
Students should apply directly through KOAS or Soihtu's websites. It's highly recommended to apply as early as possible before arrival, especially for exchange students, due to limited availability.
KOAS offers housing for about 4,000 students, with apartments typically 2.5–4 km from the main campus, including shared and single apartments with amenities like saunas, laundry rooms, and internet. Soihtu Housing operates Kortepohja Student Village (for ~1,900 students) and Soihtu Korttelikylä, offering community-focused and environmentally friendly living.
