University of Leicester History

University of Leicester earlier known as University College Leicester is a British higher education establishment located in Leicester, England. The university was established as Leicestershire and Rutland University College in 1921 and was conferred university status by the Royal Charter in 1957. It currently enrols over 16800 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
